Well it rained on us again. Needless to say I guess thats our good luck charm since we were Grand Champions. 1st in beans, 2nd in Fajitas, 1st in Chicken, 1st in Cooks Choice, 1st in Ribs, 3rd in Brisket, 2nd in Cobbler. Not bad at all..
One of the most beautiful cookoffs we have ever done. There was 30 teams place 4th in chicken, 4th in brisket, and 1st in cook-choice, and 5th in beans. It rained on us just like in every cook-off we have ever done.
Had a great time, even thought they stuffed us in like sardines. Placed 1st in cook choice and 3rd in chicken and 4th in ribs and 6th in Brisket. Met some really cool teams Love me Tender from New Braunfels great set of guys. Will be back next year for sure.
This is our first bbq cook-off for the 2009 and we are excited!! It will be in Geronimo Tx at the VFW Post 8456 on March 13 and 14. It rained all weekend and froze our asses off..We did well but not great Place in the top ten in everything.Great job on the beans Bel…
Talk about being cold, it was 37 degrees in the morning and I was the only idiot that had shorts and a cutoff T shirt on. There were 67 teams and about 70 percent of them were past grand champions of cookoffs so we had our work cut out for us. I knew if we placed in the top twenty we did well. Bel’s award winning beans did not place in the top twenty and they were good. Tony’s chicken did not place in the top twenty either. My chefs choice recieved 11th place and my ribs placed 9th and my brisket placed 10th.
It was picture perfect weather to have a BBQ cook-off. There was alot of good friends there to past the time. This was a defining moment for the Burnt Bean Co. we were either going to stay an ok team or make some decisions for the better of the team. Needless to say it was done without saying a thing. Well back the to the winnings, my wonderful wife kick ass again and place 1st in beans, I placed 1st in chef choice and 3rd in Ribs. The chicken was on point and place 6th and well the brisket “sucked”(lets just say it was not a true Burnt Bean Brisket) but it still place 8th.
So my good friends the season is over for now we have weddings and batchelor parties to attend.
See you all soon!!!
The Burnt Bean Family..

So talk about a bullseye on your back we are the team to beat in New Braunfels. We are the grand champions of the 5th annual Comal County Fair. There was 72 teams from all over central and south Texas. Some good ol boys were there and well we knew we had to bring our “A” game. My wife took first in beans, I took 2nd in brisket, 3rd in ribs and Tony made final table in chicken. We were the only team to go up more than once. Thank you to everyone who showed up and supported us and had some good ol BBQ..
