Probably one of the most misserable weeks of my life!! It rained the whole time with 30mph wind gusts and forty degree weather…But there was a ray of sunshine for the Burnt Bean Co. over five miles worth of BBQ teams previous and recent National Champions were there. We did very well for our first time out there we placed 1st in Cooks Choice, 6th in Ribs, 13th in brisket out of 350 teams!! Thanks to all our sponsors and family that made it out there to support the BBC for that we are always greatful!!!
Never have gone to a State Championship so talk about being excited!! There was 30 plus teams best of the best that the State had to offer. So we had our work cut out for us. We ended up placing 1st in brisket, 7th in Ribs and 7th in Fajitas not bad for our first time at a State Championship!! Met some of my great friends Lenny from Coastal City Smokers and Mr Rodriguez from Puro Party and last but not least Danny from Big D’s BBQ…
Lulac BBQ Cook-off seemed to be alot of great teams there $1000 payout for first place brisket that went to my great friend Robert Sierra from S&S Pit..We did fairly well with 1st in fajitas, 5th in Cooks Choice, 5th in Chicken, final table in Brisket…Thanks for all who went by and drank a cold one with us!!!
The Second Time At the Briscoe Beef Cookoff…It rained on us the whole time and manange to get Resrved Grand Champs…1st Steak, 1st in Cooks Choice, 2nd in Pie, 3rd in Fajitas and 3rd in BBQ Sauce…

One of the most beautiful cookoffs we have ever done. There was 30 teams place 4th in chicken, 4th in brisket, and 1st in cook-choice, and 5th in beans. It rained on us just like in every cook-off we have ever done.
