3/2011 Geronimo VFW Cook-off

Well its not very often that I say that I was not ready for a cook-off well this one my friends I was not ready. Long shifts at work and late nights helped in my demise this past weekend. Also 50mph winds dont help. Thank God my wife came to play she placed 2nd dessert, 10th beans, final table in cooks choice, I managed to come up with a 8th brisket and final table in ribs and chicken..

2/2011 George West Wild Hog Cookoff

First of all we would like to thank our good friend Darwin Hoel for the free entree. Its not very often that we have the chance to cook in south Texas but we did. We placed third over all out of 25 teams 1st in ribs, 1st in pork, 7th in chicken, 4th in brisket.  Had a good time with our friend James next stop is Geronimo.

San Antonio Rodeo BBQ Cook-off 2011

There were over 267 Teams this year!!! We were blessed to take 10th in Ribs and 1st in Cooks-Choice. Weather was great and the beer was cold!!

Hondo Hunters Expo Jan2011

Talk about some of the worst weather we have cooked in. But there was a silver lining to this story my right hand man took 1st in Chicken and I took 7th in Ribs and 8th in brisket.. Next stop San Antonio Rodeo BBQ Cook-off..

Jan 2010 San Antonio Livestock Rodeo Cookoff!!

Probably one of the most misserable weeks of my life!! It rained the whole time with 30mph wind gusts and forty degree weather…But there was a ray of sunshine for the Burnt Bean Co. over five miles worth of BBQ teams previous and recent National Champions were there. We did very well for our first time out there we placed 1st in Cooks Choice, 6th in Ribs, 13th in brisket out of 350 teams!! Thanks to all our sponsors and family that made it out there to support the BBC for that we are always greatful!!!

October State Championship 2009

Never have gone to a State Championship so talk about being excited!! There was 30 plus teams best of the best that the State had to offer. So we had our work cut out for us. We ended up placing 1st in brisket, 7th in Ribs and 7th in Fajitas not bad for our first time at a State Championship!! Met some of my great friends Lenny from Coastal City Smokers and Mr Rodriguez from Puro Party and last but not least Danny from Big D’s BBQ…

October 2009 San Marcos

Lulac BBQ Cook-off seemed to be alot of great teams there $1000 payout for first place brisket that went to my great friend Robert Sierra from S&S Pit..We did fairly well with 1st in fajitas, 5th in Cooks Choice, 5th in Chicken, final table in Brisket…Thanks for all who went by and drank a cold one with us!!!

Juneteenth 6/2009

Talk about a HOT one!! Temps reaching in the 100’s we manage to stay cool and WIN!!! 1st in Fajitas, 2nd in Cooks Choice, 1st Ribs, 4th in Cobbler,5th in chicken, and 5th in Best Pit out of 45 teams. Had a great time with our good friends, S&S Pit Crew, and Smokin Across Texas, Billys Southern Q.
